    • Acting Finance Manager
      • Aug 2014 - May 2016

Acting Finance Manager at Brunel University; my role consisted of my Finance Assistant role but with extra responsibility of taking on management tasks and having the responsibility to deliver feedback to the unit managers as to there performance. The current structure within the Finance team within the South of the country gave me the opportunity to perform the role of the Finance Manager for site and have the responsibility of people reporting into myself. The benefit and importance I have found through this is it gives me the drive to ensure full organisation, planned diaries for the year and the authorisation to process holiday.I have become a lot more involved with the day to day finance on site and more involved in management meetings, client meetings and forecast budgeting.Involved with the month end processes of consolidating the month end results for both of the contracts that we have on site; SU and UNI. Once the month end process has been completed then I am involved and instigate Finance Reviews. Was responsible for working on the journals that are sent to the BSS team which is a vital function within the business as this determines the level that the unit is performing. Since taking on this role the Field Contribution upon my site is measured has continually exceeded expectation in a challenging environment. Involved in Monthly Finance calls with the University Account Director to discuss the months performance and results. This has given me the confidence in my role to evolve and challenge myself further.I product the bills via the UDC Billing portal that are produced and given to the client and external customers that are a variation in what we should be charging as a contract. The benefit of me doing this from site is that it is a much smoother process whom can liase with the client and explain why the invoice is being raised- this helps with a smooth transition for ensuring that payment is made on time as per the agreed payment terms.
