During this period I rolled out a new improved remuneration package and commission structure, plus implemented a new order processing and CRM system. Supported by a team of Regional Sales Managers and a National Sales Manager, who managed the teams day to day, the teams were tasked with winning and retaining customers across all market segments who operated predominantly truck and van fleets. The main part of the role involved identifying key opportunities, ensuring the structure of the team enabled the greatest coverage and identifying key levers to maximize success. This was done through the structure of the teams, the creation of a rewards scheme to drive the right behaviors and the creation of a culture where best practice and team collaboration was encouraged. As a result the Commercial Team produced year on year growth and successfully won and retained large contracts. Two of which generated £18m and £10m of revenue over the life of the contracts.
