I work with people as young as 4 and as old as 75, through the diversity of all skill levels and needs to create a supportive and inclusive environment for growth and development.As a senior instructor, I am responsible for overseeing other instructors, working with co-workers, ensuring cleanliness, and interacting with parents and clients. I provide guidance to new instructors and maintain open communication with parents to ensure high-quality instruction.   As a Summer and March Break Camp Director, I gained a wealth of experience in managing and leading a team to create a safe and fun environment for children. One of my primary responsibilities was planning and executing daily activities, which included teaching karate in the mornings and leading camp-style activities in the afternoons. This required careful planning, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills to ensure that each day ran smoothly and that all children were engaged and happy.I was responsible for communicating with parents and students, answering questions, and addressing concerns. This required excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to empathize with parents and ensure that their children were receiving the highest quality of care. I was also responsible for managing staff members. This included providing guidance and support, conducting regular training sessions, and addressing any issues or concerns that arose. It was essential that I maintained a positive and collaborative team environment, as this directly impacted the experience of the children in our care.Emergencies and unexpected situations were a regular occurrence. It was essential that I remained calm and composed in these situations, and that I had the knowledge and training to address any issues quickly and effectively. This required a high level of situational awareness, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.As the Parents Night Out coordinator, my role was to ensure that children had a fun, safe, and engaging experience while their parents enjoyed a night out.   During my time as the Head of Sports, I successfully developed and implemented sports programs that allowed campers to grow and develop while having fun. This required strong collaboration and teamwork with other counselors to create activities that were engaging, challenging, and inclusive for all campers. I also worked closely with the Head of Arts and Music to plan and organize camp-wide events that fostered a sense of community and belonging among campers. As the Head of Day Trips, I took on the responsibility of organizing and executing full-day trips that were both safe and exciting for campers of all ages. This involved close collaboration with various departments, including the waterfront team, medical staff, and camp directors, to ensure that every detail of the trip was carefully planned and executed. I coordinated with lifeguards to ensure that all water-based activities were conducted safely, and I worked closely with medical staff to ensure that campers' health needs were met throughout the day. In addition to these responsibilities, I also worked within a cabin, where I dealt with emergencies and problems that may arise. My ability to stay calm under pressure and think critically in challenging situations was essential to ensuring that all campers received the care and support they needed. Overall, my experience as both the Head of Sports and the Head of Day Trips allowed me to develop a diverse set of skills that will enable me to thrive in any role that requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and a focus on safety and well-being.
