I served and still serve as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional for multiple public schools in Duval County (FL) and private schools in the greater Seattle, Washington area. I execute the lesson plan left by the full time teacher in her/his absence, maintain good order and discipline, and keep all students safe throughout the day. I communicate and coordinate with other teachers and administrators throughout the day. I leave a detailed note about the day for the full time teacher. With fellow fitness center team members, I provided customer service to more than 400 active duty, dependent, retired, veteran, and government contracted patrons at the Fitness Center on a daily basis. I cleaned equipment and spaces, greeted all patrons while checking proper identification, issued workout gear, maintained a change fund while operating a cash register earning profits for MWR, and opened and closed the facility. I also assisted with facilitation and safe execution of several special fitness events, including Kids Fest, 5k races, and a strongman competition. Show less

    • Administrative Staff Officer
      • Sep 2011 - Dec 2015

I was selected by Naval Reactors to train and serve in the submarine community upon commissioning from the United States Naval Academy. However, I served as an administrative staff officer for the Officer Department at Nuclear Power School upon disenrollment from training, while waiting for an opportunity to apply for redesignation to another officer community (leaving the nuclear submarine community). I served an important role for the administrative team that was responsible for reporting and departing officer students and other various, non-academic administration. I assisted officers in their transition to the command and Charleston area and with their required personnel and travel pay paperwork. I managed the officer student digital database and ensured accurate and complete entry of all information. I maintained the office's physical filing system. I coordinated and scheduled indoctrination week for newly reported officers, communicating with more than 30 outside entities and reserving spaces and multimedia equipment at the command. I worked hand and hand with Yeomen (enlisted rating that are specialists in correspondence) to prepare and oversee the command's correspondence which supported the senior staff at the command. I was also selected to lead fellow officer students who were in a hold status (awaiting enrollment, redesignation, or transfer), by preparing a weekly schedule of duties that assisted multiple departments at the command. I became very familiar and proficient with Microsoft Office software and use of office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, label makers, printers, and scanners. I served a collateral role as a Command Finanical Specialist, utilizing multimedia to provide financial awareness and responsibility to young sailors. I also served a collateral role as a Command Fitness Leader, administering more than 20 Physical Fitness Assessments for more than 700 officers, with 99% success rate. Show less
