Research Assistant Traineeship

May 2018 - Aug 2018
In this position I worked as a Research Assistant on an applied project under the supervision of Senior Adviser Francesco Paolo Mongelli of the Directorate General Monetary Policy division. My duties included, but were not limited to, conducting literature reviews, constructing a data base containing macroeconomic, financial and institutional variables for all 19 member states of the Euro Area and conducting a panel data analysis. Throughout this internship I kept my supervisor updated with all aspects of my work using clear, well constructed written reports, graphs and tables of a publication quality.

Teaching Assistant

Sep 2017 - May 2018
I held this position in both the Statistics for Economists and Intermediate Macroeconomics modules. Both these modules were part of the second year Economics undergraduate programme. My primary duties in this role were to teach tutorial classes twice weekly to undergraduate students. These classes would contain up to thirty students and lasted one hour each. In each class I would provide solutions to problem sets that the students had been given by their lecturer. The dynamic setting of these classes meant I also needed to anticipate any areas students may be experiencing difficulties in and adjust my teaching accordingly. This position allowed me to further develop my presentation, leadership, interpersonal and organisational skills. I utilised my knowledge and experience to help undergraduate students understand relatively complex statistical and macroeconomic principles in a clear and concise manner.
