I was also the liaison between the students and the professor. I dealt with the majority of the student issues to filter them out before sending critical issues to the professor. On a few occasions, I even covered the professor's lectures if they had to be absent. As the Homework Team Coordinator, I was responsible for producing and grading the weekly homeworks of the class. I managed a team of 12-20 teaching assistants where we came up with thought provoking homework problems. I would then take the problems and compile them into the weekly assignment. Once the assignment was turned in, I was responsible to make sure that the grader had everything they needed to run the AutoGrader. If and when there were issues, I worked with the grader to resolve them in a quick and effective manner. On top of those responsibilities, I also performed regular teaching assistant responsibilities, which included a weekly hour and a half recitation period. In this recitation period, a Co-TA and I would be responsible for recapping the weekly lectures to a group of approximately 50 students. Most of the time would be spent actually teaching, but part of the time was spent helping students as they worked on example problems in groups. Every lesson, there were problems that I would do on the board to reinforce the lessons from the week. I was also responsible for attending various meetings through out the week (about 5 hours of meetings per week). The last responsibility was the help desk, where I worked an additional three hours a week tutoring and helping students with the class assignments. Show less
