Squadron Commander

The position of Squadron Commander is the highest rank achievable by cadets and is given to individuals who show high levels of leadership, and discipline. As squadron commander, I manage the drill, dress, and deportment of all cadets and is in charge of ensuring that all operations within the squadron is running smoothly. Due to the pandemic, this year has been the first year that has been done in-person meaning there is a gap of knowledge for four levels of cadets. I challenged this status quo and I have taken initiative to restore the squadron by holding uniform workshops, organizing senior workshops, and holding meetings with seniors to draw plans of mitgating flaws within our squadron.• Spearheaded our squadrons shadowing program developing 15+ seniors to ensure a line of succesion

Squadron Head Of Public Affairs

As Head of Squadron public affairs, I overlook and manage the social media platforms with a collective following of over 1500 individuals. Additionally, I am responsible for managing quality and informative posts to ensure all cadets and parents have a clear understanding of our updates and current events. Furthermore, I develop professional videos and broadcasts such as our Remembrance Day ceremony for the public.

Training Department Head

In my experience as the Head of Training, I work with youth ranging from age 12-19 in training and developing in areas of aviation, citizenship, and physical activity. Through this position, I overlooks and evaluate over 50 instructors to ensure quality and professional lessons to over 200 cadets. In addition, I develop and curate lessons such as effective presentation and effective leadership to further the development of instructors. I also work with adult CIC staff to build meaningful workshops and in person training weekends allowing 200+ cadets to develop effective communication, powerpoint building, and critical thinking skills while ensuring the enforcement of strict COVID protocols by Cadet Canada.

In my role as the administrative Cadet, I worked closely with our administrative officer in the areas of filing, utilizing services like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. My primary role was collecting annual validations form and working between the officers and the cadets as a liason.

Band Head of Events Committee

Planned events such as movie nights, and bowling events for our Military Band consisting of 70+ cadetsAs the Head of Events Committee, I led a group of 10 seniors to organize events for our 70+ piece military band. My role was to lead and organize events to boost the morale and team bond between the cadets. Events I have organized are our annual Christmas Party, team bonding at a trampoline park, movie nights, and team bonding days.

I worked with 30 students ages 12 to 18 and attending 14 different schools in the City of Richmond to bring a student perspective in the areas of student voice and student agency. Through out this process, I shared thoughts and discussed with elected Board of Education and senior leaders of the Richmond School District including the superintendent in regards to the school structure, and ideas for improvement that challenges the schools status quo. Cyber Security Staff Cadet

In my role of working as the Flight Sergeant for the Virtual Cyber Security Course, I was selected to directly work with my course commander giving him aid and information regarding our course whenever needed. I attended course commander meetings where I reported to the administrative staff of the Alpha Virtual Cadet Training Centre directly providing insight on our course. Part of my role was to monitor and facilitate all cybersecurity competitions that took place where I developed skill in communications and time management as the competitions were strictly monitored by Cyber Patriot.
