Utilized problem solving techniques to answer difficult policy questions and overcome problems concerning best practices while maintaining legal compliance and ethical behavior. Worked in partnership with the Hamilton County Chiefs of Police, as part of the Hamilton County Collaborative Agreement, to write a joint vehicle pursuit policy and procedure, governing forty-five (45) law enforcement agencies’ pursuit actions, including the Cincinnati Police Department, cutting the number of yearly pursuits over 80%. Served as the policy and procedure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Vehicle Pursuits and Use of Force. Researched and created new policies and procedures regarding CPD Marine Patrol and Marine Rescue, maintaining officer and public safety as well as legal and department compliance. GRANT DIRECTOR Drove receipt of federal grants from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Increased opportunities for grant approval by developing innovative and practical proposals to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the police department with an annual budget exceeding $154 million dollars. Achieved a $110K federal grant through FEMA for new equipment to support the CPD Dive and Rescue Team.
