  I am a music and music technology teacher at an ofsted rated 'outstanding' secondary school based in West Berkshire. I currently teach all year groups from 7 to 13 and am involved with the strong extra curricular music programme. As a part of the music teaching team, I have taken a leading role in various concerts and shows including House Music, the Winter Concert and our Carol concert expecting to be involved with our upcoming production of Grease in the summer. I have taken a more central role in various other extra-curricular activities including conducting the Wind Ensemble and the year 9 band. My role as a year 7 tutor has helped me to develop important pastoral skills which underpin my role as a teacher. As well as pedagogy based knowledge, I have developed my musical knowledge throughout my PGCE and subsequent job as a music teacher, most notably through teaching A-Level music which requires a much higher level of subject knowledge than I have had previously. I look forward to continuing to develop this in the years to come as I teach music at all levels to more and more students. Show less
