    • Secretary
      • Apr 2013 - Apr 2014

As Secretary, I have been a part of a team of 35 committee members, helping to conduct a wide range of events that benefit the community and our membership. These events range from:- Social- Intellectual Engagement- Community Service- Academics- Careers and Professional DevelopmentMonash Golden Key (MGK) is an entirely student run organisation with all committee members volunteering their time and effort. MGK is one of the leading Chapters of Golden Key in the Asia-Pacific region with approximately 17,000 lifetime members, comprising approximately 6000 current student members. Being secretary of the largest university Chapter in the Asia-Pacific region has been a fantastic experience for me. In my time on the committee of the MGK Chapter, I have been able to learn so much from all committee members, both past and present, as well as the Chapter consultant Susanna Chan. Working in a team that is driven to provide academic, leadership and community service opportunities for members has been a rewarding experience. It has helped me to further develop skills in forward planning, event management, communication, teamwork and leadership, as well as making many new friendships both professionally and personally. In 2013, Monash Golden Key hosted a number of events and programs, including academics and leadership lectures, Race Against Depression (RAD), the annual Careers Cocktail Evening, professional development workshops and a Movember fundraising event. In total over 2,500 people attended events including a broad selection of members, non-members, university staff and VCE students. Being actively involved and participating in the Monash Chapter of Golden Key has been rewarding as it has allowed me to truly develop my skillset, having the task of engaging a large number of members and keeping both committee and general members up to date with planning and events throughout the year.

Clubs & Societies provides students at Monash University with the chance to get more out of university than just a degree. Over 100 student-run clubs administer and facilitate activities, events, competitions, productions, seminars, conferences and more, for over 10,000 student members.I was one of 4 students who founded the Monash Disney Society (MDS). As part of the executive committee, I was in charge of correspondence with the Monash Student Association, members and any other interested parties. It was my duty to prepare agendas and minutes, and serve notice as prescribed, for all meetings. I acted as Returning Officer for club elections as appropriate and maintained website pages (Monash and Facebook). As a team, the committee coordinated events throughout 2011 and 2012, including many barbecues, movie screenings, trivia nights, debates, and other activities. The Society also held and attended events in the city, including cocktail evenings and live performances. After starting with a dedicated committee of 4 people and 20 members in April 2011, MDS grew to a committee of 10 and a membership base of over 1000 students in 2012, becoming the largest student-run society of its kind at Monash University. After much success, I stepped down from my role on the committee at the AGM in September 2012. I was inducted as an Honorary Life Member in May 2015. I still enjoy being a part of the Society today. The aims and objectives of the society are:- To provide students with the opportunity to learn skills related to the unique design process behind Disney's animated films- To host activities related to the music, animation techniques, characters and history of Disney- To provide a forum for students to discuss the culture associated with Disney and their personal connection with it- To attend events as a club that relate to the magic of Disney, such as museum exhibitions, live shows, theatrical performances, movie screenings and orchestral evenings
