      Was partnered with the Bureau of Meteorology for an Honours project in 2022. This project involved researching flood risk in Australia in the wake of flood events that devastated communities in 2021. More specifically, the outcome of this project was a flood risk index which can be used to compare flood risk in different Australian flood prone LGAs. This led to the publication of several research articles boasting real-world applicability of the results, an outcome we, as a team, are very proud of.

      Was part of the third-year Global Challenges team that developed a web extension ‘Climate Genie’. It was designed to help counter climate change related misinformation in Australian news media sources. This Google Chrome web extension uses a machine learning model to predict misinformation using keywords and sentences to predict what type of misinformation is being displayed. It then displays a pop-up which highlights the misinformation and shows a debunking sentence for the specific type of misinformation present. This project has been continued for 2022 with a modified team.
