The Commission’s Vision 2030 shapes a national direction for mental health and wellbeing. It will be delivered through a unified system that takes a whole-of-community, whole-of-life and person-centred approach to mental health. As a result, my role is really a 70/30 split, engagement to communications. Personally, engagement is so important; to best understand a problem and achieve strongest outcomes, we must engage and enable with compassion at the heart of our thinking. • Engagement with sector leaders, industry communications professionals, consumers and carers, mental health and wellbeing support groups, and lived experienced Australians. • Commission Press Secretary. • Coordination of Commission media and communications strategy and execution. • Internal and external collateral including production of Commission CEO speeches, media briefs, press releases, project plans, slide decks and digital materials including videos.

      • Produced (wrote, shot, voiced, edited) daily sports reports. These included live crosses and look-lives on location. • Produced Sportsline (30 minute morning) and Sportsnight (1 hour night) programs. Experiences • Buddy Franklin interview. Three days before the 2014 AFL Grand Final and Sky News sent me out for my first press conference. I got frustrated with the 20 Sydney non-AFL journalists asking clichéd questions, so tested Franklin with two questions of my own. The interview demonstrated personal initiative but also presented Sky News Sport as a news channel willing to influence the direction of a press conference. • The WS Wanderers arrive back in Sydney following ACL title. 33 degrees, 10,000 fans at Sydney airport and the team’s plane didn’t arrive until 10.30pm. The team came out and left without an interview. Every other TV journalist then departed. I told my cameraman, ‘We’ve been here four hours, what’s 15 minutes more?’ 10 minutes later goalkeeper Ante Covic returned. The experience showed I was personally adaptable to cover all sports, but as the only news channel to capture the interview proved Sky News Sport's dedication to the story.
