Duties include budget management with P&L responsibility, contract negotiation, capital improvement projects, outage management, repair, replacement and technology upgrades to fixed and rotating equipment, root cause failure analysis, and corporate engineering procedure rollout, implementation, and training.Accomplishments: - Provide services to ten facilities throughout Texas and the Mid Atlantic Region. The equipment being managed at these facilities consists of: ABB, GE frame and aeroderivative, Mars, and Westinghouse gas turbines; ABB, GE, Mitsubishi, and Westinghouse steam turbines; ABB, Nooter Erikson, Indeck, and Vogt HRSG’s; and an ABB gas fired boiler. The facilities produce a total combined net generation of 2250MW. - Negotiated and implemented Major Maintenance Agreements with GE and Siemens to cover the major equipment at multiple facilities throughout Sapphire Power Holdings. - Developed work scope for four GE 7FA Package 3 Compressor Upgrades, budget $3.5MM each, and GE MKVIe IO Pack Replacement for two sites, budget $2.5MM each. - Rolled out, implemented and trained the facilities on three corporate engineering procedures and four corporate engineering maintenance guidelines. All projects were completed without a safety incident, on time and on or under budget. - Provided maintenance support and technical direction on the mechanical and controls related equipment. The facility major equipment was comprised of GE 7FA gas turbines (4), GE D8 steam turbines (2), Westinghouse 235 steam turbine, Nooter Erikson HRSG’s (4) and an ABB gas fired boiler with a total net generation of 1600 MW. Accomplishments: - Outages planned and executed include GE 7FA Combustion and Hot Gas Path Inspections, Alstom DKE1-1 Steam Turbine Minor Inspection, and two five day Chlor-Alkali plant outage, with all completed with no safety incident, on time or ahead of schedule, and within budget that ranged from $850,000 to $2.4M. - Planned and developed work scopes for four upcoming outages: Total Plant Outage for Chlor-Alkali and Cogeneration, budget of $7.7M, two 7FA Gas Turbine Major Inspections, budget of $8.0M, each, and an Alstom DKE1-1 Steam Turbine Major Inspection, budget of $16.0M. - Managed four capital improvement projects totaling $400,000. The projects were a CVS Vent Header replacement, $225,000; Cell Liquor Header replacement, $100,000; 3rd Effect Hotwell Demister Pad installation, $50,000, and Wash Water Tank Piping modification, $25,000. All projects were completed without a safety incident, on time and on or under budget. - Involved in the AFE justification, project scope development, and implementation of various capital projects throughout the Cogeneration and Chlor-Alkali with a total project spend of $1.1M - Reduced the overdue Mechanical Integrity program findings from 15% to 0%, accomplished by increasing the visibility of the program, budgeting costs for improvements, developing a work scope, and executing the improvements in the agreed upon time frame.
