The duties assigned include reviewing legislation and regulations related to law enforcement training and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federally mandated training requirements for the entire Sheriff’s Office. Also monitoring compliance and reporting requirements with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC). Ensuring courses are scheduled and completed in a timely manner and implementing progressive training resources across the entire department. Serving within the Professional Standards and Training Division, I am also responsible for internal affairs investigations and am the liaison officer for the California Victim Compensation Board.
