Ally Therese Ongsuco, M.S.Ed

Matthew is a very proactive student. He took initiative and joined the First Year Career Communities program for freshman students who are interested in jump starting their career development. He has met with me several times already to review his resume in addition to seeking help on improving his mock interview skills. As a result of the mock interview, he was able to land his new position as an Orientation Leader (OL) this upcoming summer. Becoming a Peer Tutor in the STEM Center this semester and securing his position as an OL has further sparked Matthew's interest in becoming a great leader within the campus community.

I am an instructor of the Mathematics Workshop for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Academy. This workshop is designed to help students feel more prepared for their first-year mathematics class. Topics are built around the Fundamentals of College Algebra course offered at Saint Peter's University. From the Saint Peter's University EOF Website: "The mission of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program at Saint Peter’s University is to provide students who come from disadvantaged academic and economic backgrounds with the necessary skills to enroll and successfully complete their college education. Furthermore, the EOF Program provides a bridge by which to close the gap between students’ initial status and their academic development, and therefore, to build a stronger and more diverse student body."
