To investigate and disrupt intellectual property crime within the North-West of the UK and beyond. To support investigations into banking fraud where appropriate. To take ownership of investigations into offences contrary to the Trademarks Act 1994 and the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Act as officer in the case and disclosure officer as required. To run proactive and reactive investigations, making use of a wide range of investigatory techniques and drawing on the expertise of specialists as required. Conduct enquiries across the north-west region and occasionally elsewhere in the UK as required. Prepare cases for Magistrates and Crown Court as required, to a high standard Liaise with prosecution and defence as required to ensure the smooth progress of criminal cases. Ensure the preparation of high quality disclosure schedules as required. Work with partners in the private sector, law enforcement and local and national government as required to deliver a high quality policing service and to enhance the reputation of the unit. Ensure compliance with MOPI in accordance with National Learning & Development Strategy and that all responsibilities are undertaken in relation to information management, data quality, information sharing, intelligence and information security in accordance with the ACPO Guidance on the Management of Police Information in order to comply with the Statutory Code of Practice.
