Leading the design of consumer products and complex Aircraft interior products from initial briefing and concept proposals through to overseeing delivery of the final product. I have developed a design specialism for commercial aircraft interiors over recent years. These products range from lightweight economy class seats and luxury First Class suites to complete on-board Bar and Lounge environments. In recent years I have led the design of Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Loft’ Social Space for their flagship A350s, Scandinavian Airlines’ Bar and Business Class Seat for A350, Etihad Airways’ A380 Lobby Lounge and Malaysia Airlines’ First Class seats for A350.Key responsibilities include:- Managing the design team and all deliverables throughout the design process.- Researching and defining the overall design strategy for projects and agreeing scope and direction with clients and suppliers.- Generating creative and innovative design solutions that are on-brief, commercially viable and appealing to customers.- Producing presentation material from initial sketches through to highly detailed 3D surface models and photorealistic renderings.- Working effectively with suppliers and engineers to ensure the final production data remains faithful to the original design intent.- Reviewing and modifying complex 3D production assemblies imported from external vendors.- Fully client facing including presenting to stakeholders throughout the programme and at all Major Milestone Meetings.- Managing mock-up production and production of marketing animations.- Trim and Finish (CMF) and graphics definition and physical mock-up / working prototype production to validate designs.- Performing FAI (Final Article Inspection) of aerospace products and resolving issues ahead of final assembly on the aircraft.
