As a Sawyer, I was involved with chainsaw operations consisting of brushing, felling, cutting direct and indirect line to prevent fire growth, as well as prudent maintenance of my Stihl 461 Chainsaw. Able to rectify my FAL2. Safely mitigated hazardous trees with the use of technical and complex cutting techniques. I also spent time in the dig line once saw operations were completed and mopped up with and without the use of water. Took part in multiple firing operations with drip torch and very pistol. I completed two years with the Engine at Lone Peak Conservation Center. Grasped many concepts about the Wildland-Urban Interface and conducted numerous operations on fires within urban developments. Developed skills to deploy progressive hoselays, as well as operating a portable pump. Operated Type III Engine in the ENOP (Engine Operator) position which consisted of Driving, Pump Operations, Drafting, Etc. Used clear and concise communications with portable and mobile radios.
