    • Instructor/Teaching Assistant
      • Jun 2012 - Jul 2014

The Center for Talented Youth is an education summer camp that immerses advanced middle school and high school students in one area of study for three weeks. I taught here each summer from 2012- 2014. The first two summers I was a T.A. for three different philosophy courses: Introduction to Philosophy, Mathematical Logic, and Ethics. In the summer of 2014 I was promoted to lead instructor, during which I taught a course on the Philosophy of mind. As a T.A. in these courses I lectured on various topics in philosophy. Some topics I lectured on were the history of the mind-body problem, Hume's problem of induction, deduction and validity in first-order logic, and Plato's Euthyphro dilemma. It was also part of my responsibility to take notes on each student so that the instructor could write progress reports at the end of the course(~42 students total). Additionally, I helped students who required extra help, graded quizzes, supervised students during lunch and break times, and prepped lessons I was asked to lead. As lead instructor I developed the curriculum (~110 hours of content), wrote and delivered lectures, created activities, directed discussions, created and graded exams, ran review sessions, and wrote student evaluations for each student (14 total). I also supervised a T.A. and gave pedagogical advice and feedback on his instruction. Show less
