The scope of these projects include the renovation of an internal manufacturing space, as well as installation of suspended process, electrical, life safety, and mechanical systems. I performed quality control throughout the construction process to ensure that the construction was carried out in accordance with 3rd party design drawings and specifications. This included verifying tolerances, performing pressure and tensile testing, and validating functionality of equipment. Once installed, I assisted in the integration of these newly installed systems throughout the termination process to make them compatible with the newly installed manufacturing equipment. Additionally, I managed the completion of construction, as well as the entirety of commissioning and start-up process of the Johnson & Johnson Research & Development Deionized Water Expansion project. In this role, I collaborated with the City of Jacksonville Building Department to explain project scope details throughout the building permitting process. To accomplish this, I systematically reviewed construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to identify and rectify conflicts between systems. I was also able to lead in generation & implementation of weekly construction schedules, cost tracking and estimation, and site logistics plans for high-risk activities such as crane picks and excavations.

On these projects, I created material and product submittals in order to meet provided design drawings, specifications, and provisions. These include cold aisle containment systems in order to prevent Verizon data racks from overheating, and suspended ceiling systems to incorporate HVAC, life safety, and electrical systems. For these projects, I identified and carried out through resolution labor, cost, material, and scheduling impacts to accommodate over one thousand design change orders throughout the duration of the projects. In addition, I estimated cost and scheduling concerns associated with the drywall and general requirements portions of a new Sacred Heart University Ice Rink and new Morgan Stanley Executive Suites. In this role, I reviewed 3rd party design documents which incorporated multi-story curtain walls spanning underground, and cantilevered seating and soffit construction to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural conflicts.

These issues include, but are not limited to re-routing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components to avoid conflict in the field, identifying existing deficiencies with the structural concrete slab of the hospital, and verification and implementation of given fire and smoke rating requirements for wall construction on the job site. In addition to my field experience, in my second year I have also begun reviewing product and material submittals to determine their conformity to the 3rd party design intent. Finally, during construction activities, I had to aid in determining construct-ability issues associated with building in an active hospital. These issues include, but are not limited to infection control practices such as HEPA filtration and coordination between project management teams representing the hospital, the design engineers, and the contracting team.
