Statutory Nuisance investigations and enforcement in accordance with section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Working in close partnership with Housing Officers, Social Services and the Police to tackle noise related anti-social behaviour.Lead on a number of successful projects in school's relating to raising awareness of noise in the community as part of the Noise Action Week national campaign.Environmental Crime Enforcement - Carried out a number of successful prosecutions relating to fly-tipping and duty of care offences.Lead on an project to improve compliance with the duty of care provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 relating to commercial waste storage and disposal. Initiatives included producing a Council information pack to provide to businesses explaining their legal obligations, producing a press release and finally producing a risk rated inspection programme to inspect businesses to ensure compliance with the legislation.Lead on a stop and search campaign in partnership with the Police to target illegal waste carriers.Co-ordinating the inspection enforcement and removal of abandoned vehicles.Responding to complaints related to drainage and filthy and verminous properties.Inspection of licensed premises and investigation and enforcement of alleged breaches of a premises licence conditions.Producing responses to planning consultations in relation to environmental protection issues. During this role I have also completed the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Portfolio of Professional Practice, professional interview and exam on-route to achieving certification with the Environmental Health Registration Board.
