Whilst planning my dissertation I undertook research in the emirate, including interviews at the Urban Planning Council, Capita Property & Infrastructure and a number of other people involved in the property industry. As a result of this research, I kept in contact with the two organisations and was subsequently offered a position for work in the Capita Abu Dhabi office.I joined Capita as a Junior Property Consultant (Development Manager). A large proportion of my time has been spent out of our main office, and predominantly at the main clients, ADM (Abu Dhabi City Municipality) building, as well as multiple site locations (for Opportunity Reports, Site Analysis, Market Study’s etc), and for PM assistance work.At ADM I have been mainly providing Development Management Advisory services to ADM’s Investment Office for a diverse portfolio of 76 capital investment projects worth more than AED 8.3 billion which will be developed through the private sector. I’ve also helped to reorganise and restructure the Investment office project report spread sheets, the project programme and time sheets, created tables, flow charts and diagrams for different projects using Visio, conducted site visits, completed a variety of different document control and research tasks, prepared and planned presentations relating to bids, initial opportunity and development strategy reports, feasibility studies and tender documents. In addition, I have also assisted on the project management side of the organisation, conducting site visits and creating and updating snag lists, site report presentations, created feasibility reports for projects and both commercial & technical evaluations of numerous projects. As a Central Services Clerk, I was mainly responsible for the training and development of some of the new employees to the business support department. Due to increased workload demand in the organisation I was also covering and assisting in other areas as well, working closely with public and private sector clients to ensure the success of the projects.
