I worked on the electrical aspect of a multi-million dollar Tangara Technology Upgrade for TfNSW and Sydney Trains. The project is an overhaul of the existing systems on the Tangara in order to bring the train in line with current technology and standards. This consisted of electrical design of the new and existing on board systems and sub-systems including Train Management System, Communications System, Train Control Network, Passenger Information System, CCTV and Leading Cab Console. I also worked on the improvement of existing systems such as Power, Traction, Safety Systems (EDR, IEDR, Green Loop), Train Management and Control which included fault finding, updating components and writing modification instruction. Another aspect was to technical engineering guidance to production (building the 4 car consists) and Testing & Commissioning (proving the design of the 4 car and 8 car consists). Show less
