As a Senior Administrative Team (SAT) member and academic leader for a 50 teaching staff and 340 students, I have had an immediate impact on the strategic direction at Montcrest. I have demonstrated effective decision making and leadership addressing staffing as well as faculty performance concerns. With a focus on equity and inclusion, I have developed and implemented policy on Gender Identity as well as the Montcrest’s new Student Support Team system.I co-constructed Montcrest’s Teaching Vision and Mission which led the school to partner with the Common Ground Collaborative. This allowed us to define our guiding principles and clearly articulate the practices we value at the student, parent, teacher, leader and board level. My ability to think strategically has been evident through my committee work, school-wide initiatives, Town Hall events as well in the work I have done to address the COVID restrictions, since March 2020. Furthermore, I have been instrumental in the adoption and rollout of the new Student Information System and the enhanced communication systems with the school community. As Assistant Head, I have defined and developed both the profile of a Montcrest Teacher as well as a Montcrest Graduate. This was achieved through work as lead counselor for High School Transitions as well as the visionary for the development of the Middle School Advisory program. Furthermore, I have constructed the guidelines and support processes for the school’s small class pathway. With a new strategic direction, I am focussed on building capacity within our teachers to meet the neurodiverse needs of our student population. This work has been focussed on implementing various digital delivery systems to support personalized learning, as well as innovative solutions to enrich our talented and gifted students. The key to my success has been my ability to foster relationships and to support all community members in their work meeting the school’s strategic goals. Show less
