Applcation/TVM Engineer
-
Sep 2017 - Jul 2020
I started my role as an Application Engineer in the Solihull assembly plant and have since moved over to the Castle Bromwich where I am predominantly based currently. I am an onsite Optimas representative for Engineering and ensure customer satisfaction is met on a daily basis, providing support and pushing through new proposals for Fastener solutions onto manufactured vehicles produced by JLR. I work in all three JLR Midlands based sites, Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and Gaydon. In more detail, my role involves working with various Engineering departments, as well as Plant Quality, Launch and logistics teams in both Optimas and JLR. My daily duties require me to manage any customer requirements, push internal changes needed for the business, oversee model launches and be involved in new part introduction. I am required to use various JLR systems and manage an internal Bill of Material (BoM) for my vehicle lines I look after, ensuring I align/validate this to the Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS). I am also tasked with coming up with new TVM proposals and help progress different stages to help ideas are progressed. Show less

Engineering Apprentice
-
Apr 2014 - Sep 2017
I moved over to the Engineering side of the company where I was taken on as an Apprentice. Alongside the job role I studied at Solihull College and gained relevant engineering qualifications BTEC NVQ Level 2/ 3. This role required me to work closely with the customer JLR and liaise with different departments to handle a range of issues, find solutions and meet tight deadlines on a daily basis. I had to present information and line trial a significant number of change proposals for the business, which included activities such as resourcing, newly designed or rationalising parts. Show less
