For four years, I was project director for Central High School's 21st Century Community Learning. I designed and implemented academic and enrichment activities for both after school and summer programming for at-risk students. Under my leadership:■Central High School saw noticeable gains in test scores, homework completion, and positive attitudes toward school among our regularly attending students.■Managed a budget of $135,000-150,000, always ending each fiscal year with a surplus. ■Successfully wrote a new 21st CCLC grant proposal that will continue funding our program through summer 2018. In addition to Central High School, our new grant, totaling over one million dollars over the next four years, includes programming for at-risk students at our feeder school, Handy Middle School■Managed and evaluated a quality staff of ten teachers and support staff.■Acted as liaison between Michigan Department of Education and Bay City Public Schools.■Updated and amend components of our 21st Century grant and budget.■Provided training on instructional technologies used in the program. After securing our new grant in the spring of 2014, I was offered the opportunity to return to the classroom, which I accepted. Although I have returned to my role as teacher, I continue to work in our after school program as a tutor and activities instructor, working closely with our new project director in ensure a quality program. Awarded $1300 to purchase FINCH Robots and Xbox 360 gamepads for a Computer Programming and Game Design Club, utilizing Kodu Gamelabs, FINCH Robots, SCRATCH, and SNAP.■21st Century Community Learning Center (21stCCLC) grant, January, 2014. Project leader for grant writing team to fund Central High School and Handy Middle School after school and summer programs. Four year grant award totaling $1,080,000 ($135,000 per sit, per year, for four years).■ MACUL grant, June, 2006.
