Bio
Gabriel Assis
I had the pleasure to work with Matt as his direct report back in 2018 and collaborate with him on several project teams after that. Matt brings a high degree of professionalism and passion to every project he is involved. A great communicator, Matt skills includes a great ability to analyze and present complex data. You can always count on Matt to challenge concepts and seek different perspectives based on objective evidence. With a great inclination to develop new ideas, Matt is often learning and integrating new technologies to projects he is involved, making him an asset to any organization.
Dave Kelly
Matthew has been a Regional Manager of Player Development at Ontario Soccer. During this period, Matthew was responsible for completing the assessment of all Grassroots Programs of OPDL License Holders across Ontario, who are aiming to achieve all the standards set by Ontario Soccer. Matt has contributed resources such as Grassroots Session plans and hosted a webinar on Talent ID with Dr Baker of York University. Matthew has also delivered as a guest presenter on our Technical Directors’ Diploma, delivered the Ontario Soccer Grassroots Diploma and Canada Soccer Community Courses. Matthew has recently successfully completed his Coach developer training and is trained to deliver the Canada Soccer C License in Ontario. While working in his role as High Performance Analyst and Regional Manager, Matthew has coached the U14 Girls Team Ontario and worked on developing Ontario Soccer’s scouting and talent ID processes. Matt is passionate, driven, determined, open to feedback and able to communicate effectively in both English and Portuguese allowing us to better connect with greater areas of our membership. Matt is a great asset to our team at Ontario Soccer.
