Whilst working at Paperchase, I have pursued passions and creative projects in my own time. These include:• ‘CAMRAngle’ magazine editor (swm.camra.org.uk) - I write and proofread articles, interview publicans, create illustrations and organize the magazine page design and layout in Adobe InDesign. I have been nominated for the ‘Adnams Awards for Best Beer Writer (Regional Media)’ and the ‘Fuller, Smith & Turner Award for Best Young Beer Writer’ by ‘The British Guild of Beer Writers Annual Awards 2021.• Designing mock User Interface (UI) images for The Gap Partnership, in order to develop future improvements for the company’s software.• Proofreading a PhD thesis, restructuring and compressing copy and thus improving the readability of the text.• Editing and condensing text on a photographer’s website (Erolski.com) by improving and refining the client’s original writing, making the copy as concise as possible for web users to skim read. • Animating for Optimum Physiotherapy in order to educate DHL warehouse staff about muscle recovery. I enjoyed researching the topic and adapting it into something entertaining and creative.• Animating logos for various companies, conveying their businesses in an inventive and striking manner. For examples see jengsdesign.com and thinklesticks.com.

Design Assistant

Jul 2014 - Jun 2017
As the sole in-house designer for the company, I worked closely with the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to visualise his ideas and proposals for the Adsensa Software. • Created an animation which was shown at a business conference in Monte Carlo, aiding the sales team to grab the attention of potential clients as well as convey the Adsensa software in a simple, yet humorous way. • Designed mock User Interface (UI) images to convey the CTO’s ideas around improvements and updates to the software developers. It also aided communication within the software team as my designs provided a visual aid to prompt discussion.• Produced graphic schematics which were used in conjunction with my mock UI images to create complex PowerPoint presentations. These were then presented as part of pitches to potential clients such as Credit Suisse. • Created icons to be used within Adsensa software which successfully communicated the function of a button through a small, simple illustration.
