Solicitor in the Corporate Recovery and Restructuring team in the Banking and International Finance Group at CMS.Highlights included advising:• Oaktree Capital on its successful acquisition and workout of the Project Adelaide portfolio (comprising a portfolio of secured commercial real estate loans with a face value of circa €900 million). • The management board and PwC as subsequent administrators of Manches LLP on the pre-packaged administration sale of the business and assets to Penningtons LLP.• Deloitte as the administrators of Blockbuster on the trading administration and susbsequent administration sale of the business to Gordon Brothers.• The directors and management board of a leading office stationery and furniture supplier on a successful financial restructuring of c£200m of debt.• HSBC Bank plc on its successful application to the Court of Appeal to overturn the High Court's decision in Re Tambrook Jersey. The case centred on the jurisdiction of the UK courts to grant assistance to a foreign court under the cross-border provisions of section 426 of the Insolvency Act 1986 and was widely reported in the legal press.
