I gathered, transformed large datasets in R to generate restoration market assessments based on spatial and statistical exploratory data analysis through interpretable, customer-focused visualization products (tables, graphs, and maps) for an environmental mitigation firm. I wrote technical memoranda to assess market impacts of federal policy changes under the previous administration, using hydrological and environmental spatial datasets. I mined federal databases for environmental and economic insights that can be used to assist the firm. Show less

I compiled and managed geospatial data on flood risk in North Carolina, including historical floodplain map data. I converted raster PNGs to vector files using various conversion methods, including unsupervised machine learning methods to cluster raster pixels. I designed programming scripts in Python and R and guides for future researchers to continue the project. I researched temporal changes to road networks along the United States’ coastline to contribute to a machine learning neural network model. I used raster imagery and U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line shapefiles such as road polyline data to determine changes and create raster masks. I developed specialized training resources for future project application.
