Matt has deservedly raced through the ranks with a combination of intuition, hard work, and an unmatched self-starter attitude. You can drop Mat into ANY project, give him minimal direction and he'll move things forward autonomously regardless of the level of complexity. I haven't encountered another person that is better/ faster at getting to an MVP than Matt, often taking the initiative completely on himself to drive continuous improvement or innovation.
