I write grant proposals, newsletter articles and more to raise funds for the construction of a sustainable educational center for an urban farm network. I recently wrote and edited a 27-page document detailing the need for and purpose of the center, which is currently being used to inform potential donors. So far my work has been used to secure $15K in donations. The finished center will include a recycled steel communal kitchen for cooking & nutrition classes, a rammed earth classroom, a solar-paneled shade structure & an amphitheater for community events. It will impact the lives of thousands in the Inland Empire for generations to come. Show less

Working for a local chapter of international environmental nonprofit Greenpeace, I educated thousands of community members across Orange County on pressing environmental issues, consistently meeting a weekly quota of new monthly donor sign-ups. I spoke to about 50 people per day, using my strong persuasive communication skills and passion for environmental justice to convey the severity of the problem of plastic pollution in our oceans, explain Greenpeace's campaign to combat it, and garner monthly contributions towards that campaign. Creative Writing Lead
-
Mar 2019 - Dec 2019
I developed curriculi for and led creative writing camps, individual workshops, and after-school programs for children. I taught grammar, vocabulary, story elements, story structure, characterization, paragraphing, and more across multiple skill levels. I edited, printed, and bound custom storybooks, managing a spreadsheet to ensure all orders were tracked and processed expediently. I also greeted guests, explained the store concept, and upsold classes and merchandise.
