I was honoured to work with Matt on a large IT implementation, he is a pleasure to work with. Despite an office fire and then COVID, he was always cool headed and supportive, his guidance provided real stability and confidence. The team didn't miss a beat. He really led the team and managed the supplier effectively so we could carry out our work. I look forward to working together again.

Matt has been driving a number of high profile and complex projects here at British Red Cross for the past few years, and has done so to a very high standard. More recently he was the PM for the Datacentre Move, where the Datacentre located in the Headquarters building was moved to a co-location contract in Maidenhead. This involved a very detailed and lengthy tender process, award of contract, then migration planning, testing and finally the move. Throughout, Matt proved to be a vital team member, who really showed he wanted to get this done and done to highest possible quality! During the time I have worked with him, I have found to be highly motivated, incredibly durable under pressure and certainly willing to take ownership without hiding. His attitude towards increased workload is always positive, as his focus is getting the job done. He will continue to grow as a PM with more exposure to such complex delivery, so would certainly recommend him if you have chance to bring him on-board. I hope we can work together again, and in the very near future.

Interim - Senior Technical Project Manager
-
Jun 2015 - Jan 2018
My time at the British Red cross was spent as an interim PM within the technical projects team. The role was created due to a large number of changes taking place within the IT function and across the organisation. I was involved in a number of initiatives during this time from finance system upgrades (Agresso) through to planning and managing the BRC’s data centre move. The three highlights were: 1) IG Programme – my role was initially as a technical author / BA. I provided analysis of HR processes/polices and aligned them to the NHS IG Toolkit. I also drafted the relevant IT policies and procedures along with user guidance for both technical and non-technical staff. Latterly I was required to take on the PM role in order to deliver against the requirements for dual factor authentication (OneLogin) and role based accesses through AD. 2) Collaboration project (SharePoint Online and OneDrive) – this project was created in order to enable better collaborative working across the BRC / with partners and to facilitate the move away from Novell and Windows fileshares. The primary focus was to deploy team sites with automated retention and email archiving. As a secondary imperative it was necessary to deliver the migration of existing sites from on premise SharePoint to SharePoint online. The final work stream focussed on the requirements of specific business units whereby they required, for statutory reasons, for something bespoke, the two primary examples being the ambulance service for the storage of patient records forms and HR for the storage of employee files. 3) Data Centre project – this was a multi-year large CAPEX project, undertaken in order to improve the stability of and de-risk the BRC infrastructure and network estate. Moving hardware from three locations (2 in London and 1 in Glasgow) to purpose built, co-lo data centres. Working with the head of technical architecture I Project Managed this initiative from business case to final delivery. Show less
