I started my agency career in 1998 and worked in various roles within property management and in 2000 I was promoted to Call Centre Manager in charge of a team of 22 staff looking after property management for the residential lettings sector for Your Move London Division at the time consisting of 32 offices within the network. In 2002, I was keen to obtain a greater understanding of the “front end” lettings business, so arranged to move into a sales role as a “Lettings Manager” in a failing and previously flagship office based in Surbiton & Kingston. During my 5 years working at front end I obtained a quick understanding of the sales needs of the property business. I quickly established structure in the office and over the 5 years managed to secure various multi landlord contracts which put me in a position to be the proud leader of the most profitable lettings branch for the business 5 years in a row. In 2007 I was promoted to Area Lettings Manager for a group of 9 offices. The goal was to make these offices profitable and sales focused a goal that was achieved within 2 years. In 2009 I was promoted to Divisional Lettings Director and asked to help cold start an additional 15 offices that had previously solely concentrated on Residential Sales. Utilising the existing residential sales teams and bringing a focus and change in attitude into the division, I was able to increase income from £1.68million to £3 million over a 4 year period. In addition profit across the division increased by 60% over this time. By 2011 I was Divisional Director and actively involved in the strategic planning for the division for both sales and lettings that included budget setting & forecasting, whilst continuing to operate a business that worked in line with company standard operating procedures.
