Working as part of the Remote Relationship Management team at The People's Pension I had a number of key contacts that I spoke to. Working over the phone with a range of employers, financial advisers and payroll professionals to help then with their Auto-Enrolment needs, explaining how B&CE and The People's Pension can help.

The key part of the role is building relationships with Financial Advisers, discussing the proposition and working to secure new business. We also help with the servicing on existing clients trouble shooting and issues that may arise. Our products are ever changing to meet the needs of the regulatory market, Auto-Enrolment is a current example of this. As the Auto-Enrolment champion within my region I participated in a training course on how Scottish Widows would be dealing with this. Following on from this, I ran training sessions in my branch to strengthen other members of my team’s knowledge levels around this area and to help them to have more effective conversations with their customers in regards to Auto-Enrolment. I have also set up a number of new schemes to deal with Auto-Enrolment as well as helped existing schemes we have deal with this challenge and helped them to implement systems to deal with this. I have also sold effectively to my customers. Through the Trainee Account Manager scheme I have been on for a number of years I have dealt directly with non-supporting financial advisers. I have organised meetings with them and effectively explained our proposition. They have bought into me and I have secured business with Scottish Widows through these face to face meetings. Another main focus for us is to drive up the usage of e-commerce. To help with this we get MI on e-commerce usage, I utilise this data to try and increase the usage of our online systems, through training both face to face and over the phone. This saves time in processing for the advisers and helps our service areas to work more effectively. Show less

  • Ashdown Lyons
    • Wimbledon
    • IT & Credit Assistant
      • Oct 2006 - Dec 2007

After finishing my degree I managed to gain some office experience working for Ashdown Lyons, I assisted both the IT department, taking calls from various part of the company to providing IT troubleshooting and assisting in implementing systems. My main role was part of the Credit Control team chasing up late payments. Both roles enabled me to work as part of a team and taught me a lot of the office and IT skills I still use today.
