I started here at Clear Sound almost immediately after my last job. I'm just meant to be in the entertainment industry. I worked my way up from FNG to Lead Tech to Production Manager in four years.

    • Stage Manager
      • Nov 2005 - Present

My first cruise was as Dave Koz's stage manager on the inaugural Dave Koz Cruise in 2005. Since then the parent company of the charter (JCLLC, now ECP) has hired me for dozens of cruises, all musically themed. I've done Elvis Cruises, Smooth Jazz and Country Cruises. We've got the gig down to a science, and as a result some charters sell out a year in advance. Our crew brings a level of professionalism and efficiency that creates order from the chaos of not only producing a week's worth of entertainment, but doing it on a moving ship at sea.

Hardly even worth mentioning. I don't like heights. This job was not right for me, but after I came off the road I needed to try something completely different. About two months after I started I sustained a wrist injury that lead me to rethink the job. I left in July. Hardly even worth mentioning. I don't like heights. I started working for Dave as an extra guy on stage to help his drummer, who notoriously broke his drums. I quickly became his all around backline manager. Pretty soon it became apparent that he needed a stage manager, so I just started doing it. Within a few years we had assembled a whole crew that toured with him. We raised the quality of his shows to the point that Dave is still a leader in his field, putting on bigger and better shows than most of his contemporaries. My experience with Dave led me to opportunities to tour with a great many other artists. I've played shows in all 50 US states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Jakarta and St. Lucia. I wasn't crazy about St. Lucia, to be perfectly honest.

I'd stop in and help out for a few weeks at a time when I was home from touring. I was largely unimportant, but I love those guys! I'd stop in and help out for a few weeks at a time when I was home from touring. I was largely unimportant, but I love those guys!

    • Monitor Engineer

I left GC to work more closely with some of the bands I was already close with. I was the night manager for a long time, mixing monitors for everyone from local bands to childhood idols of mine. I'd go back from time to time after I started touring, but my full time work there was only about a year. I left GC to work more closely with some of the bands I was already close with. I started on the guitar floor in North Hollywood shortly after I moved to LA. A few months later I was recruited away to join the Professional Accounts department with Susan Wheeler in Hollywood. I was then asked to join the Artist Relations department under David Weiderman and Ransom Comfort. I started on the guitar floor in North Hollywood shortly after I moved to LA.
