DNASTAR has been in the software business for 30+ years and many of the products are in need updating. I have been product manager for the reboot of our core Molecular biology software programs (SeqBuilder, SeqMan, MegAlign, SeqMan NGen, more...) as well as development of new Genomics software. I've maintained a Product Roadmap and lead three development teams using Agile methodology and JIRA planning software. With many of us working remote, we also utilize Slack communication between Development, Sales/Customer support and Marketing so I can process continual streams of information to continually improve our product.

Next-Gen Sequence Specialist/Product Owner
-
Jun 2009 - Sep 2017
The emergence of NGS sequence technology breathed new life into the sequence analysis software business! I spent the next few years working closely with hundreds of customers helping them figure out what to do with all their Roche 454, Illumina and Ion Torrent data. Countless data sets, webinars and customer interactions. This process was instumental in developing our software to meet wide ranging needs in rapidly changing field. Never did come up with a good job title for this, though!

Technical Sales Specialist
-
Jun 2004 - May 2009
I started at DNASTAR out of grad school at UW-Milwaukee as a Technical Sales rep with the CDC (Atlanta, GA), NIH, and USDA-ARS as key accounts. These first few years were important learning how to work with customers, understand their needs, and maintain a good working relationship.
