My role is to mitigate and manage risks within the distribution center. The Distribution Center (DC) consists of Value Added Services, Picking and Packing, and Shipping. This involves capacity and labor planning to meet delivery expectations while at the same time staying within our budget. It is my responsibility to provide the forecasts for DC labor and material requirements for our budget. I manage or participate in DC continuous improvement projects. Due to the number of legacy systems we employ, my role includes creating Excel workbooks and Access databases to supplement data gaps within our current ERP. This data is used to guide decision making and to create a scorecard, which is used to give direction and drive for success on meeting our goals.This role requires that I effectively communicate to all shifts and all stakeholders, both internal and external, in order to ensure continuous flow of operations. I supervise 25-30 print shop associates and the operations of 7-8 automatic printing presses. We print t-shirts, fleece, hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants, tank tops, and almost any other garment. Our orders sizes run from one to thousands of units with one to multiple locations. Our customers want fashion forward designs and with that comes perfecting new techniques on a constant basis to meet those expectations.
