Experience

    • United States
    • Packaging and Containers Manufacturing
    • 1 - 100 Employee
    • Production Manager
      • May 2014 - Present

In may of 2014 I was promoted to my current position with the company Production Manager. I currently have 31 employees that work underneath me. Including 3 production supervisors and 1 senior production supervisor. My duties as production manager are to maintain a production schedule throughout the current week. I arrange and make a production schedule that accomdates our customer base from what they request. I update our schedule everyday and let our logistics department know when a order is called ready for shipment. I am also in charge of setting up training schedules with new employees and current employees for cross-training. I am also in charge of our facilities safety program. I helped set up a safety program that demonstrates looking out for near misses throughout the plant that can become dangerous. I also have been a co-leader of a safety committee for the past 2 years as well. We meet every other month at a certain location and discuss overall safety in the company and determine how we can improve on our safety practices. Besides having the responsibilities of a production manger I also take on more of a plant manager role when the plant manager takes a vacation or is out of the office. Same with the lumber yard if the yard manager is gone. I take great pride to say that our safety record at my facility is great. We have gone over 700+ days without a lost time injury. As well as improving our production numbers each and every year. With how much the Little Canada produces we have only had one reject load in the past two years due to quality. We take great pride in our product and I believe that starts from the leadership from the top.

    • First Shift Supervisor
      • Apr 2013 - May 2014

In April of 2013 I was moved from being second shift supervisor to being the first shift supervisor. I was still in charge of making sure that production did not stop running. I was on a forklift 80% of the time bringing raw lumber into the plant to be processed into component sizes for pallets. I would then bring the finished processed units out to our multiple storage area's in our yard. I also loaded dry van's and flat beds if needed. While running production I was also in charge of making sure that the quality of our product was up to the standard of what our customers asked for. I was also in charge of making sure that we were staying within the guidelines of our Heat Treat Stamp specifications that were regulated by Timber Products. I had 10 employees I was in supervising while on first shift. I continued to get better at being a supervisor and learning how to cut out waste and work on lean manufacturing at this time. While working as first shift supervisor, first shift continued to produce record numbers of production, while at the same time maintaining our quality as well.

    • Second Shift Supervisor
      • Jun 2012 - Apr 2013

I was promoted in June of 2012 to second shift supervisor. I had 8 production employees that worked for me at that time. As a supervisor I was in charge of making sure that production did not stop running. While on second shift the production numbers gradually increased each month as myself and my crew continued to grow and learn run production. During this time I learned the aspects of safety within a shift. During my time as second shift supervisor I did not have any employees that had a lost time injury.
