Having been recruited to replace Matt as he moves on to pastures new, I was fortunate enough to have a 1 month handover to ease me into my new role. Handovers rarely go well with the person leaving the business already mentally 'checked out' and the person moving into the role a bit overwhelmed by the steep learning curve. There can be friction and incomplete information. Matt was super helpful to me as he patiently took me through the multitude of systems at Summer Berry and it was clear to me through our short time together that he is held in high regard in the business. He has given a very detailed handover and clearly cares deeply about the excellent work that he has done here and the future well being of the business It's always a good idea to leave a role with a positive legacy and Matt has been the consummate professional during what could have been a difficult handover.
