Matrix Industrial Control Systems is a world leader in providing data collection software solutions for the food manufacturing industry. As the company President, it is my responsibility to ensure that we always deliver outstanding value to our clients. We strive to provide exceptional customer service and innovative technologies that give our clients a competitive advantage. My day-to-day responsibilities are largely client-focused and business development. I spend a lot of time traveling - including to our customers facilities and to various trade shows and conferences - so that I can truly understand the issues that our clients face. We're fortunate enough to include some of the largest food manufacturers in North America among our clients: we work with Plumrose USA, Great Lakes Cheese, American Foods Group, Hilmar Cheese and Perdue Foods. But we don't just work with large companies, we also have very affordable solutions for smaller operations and are just as proud to work with many family owned and operated organizations. I also work closely with the rest of our team to manage the strategic growth and direction of the company. We understand our client's worlds are always changing as regulations, technologies and public opinion about manufactured foods change, and we always want to be on the forefront of that evolution.

I started Matrix Scale Systems in 1977 and grew it to be the largest independently owned scale manufacturing and service company in Canada. In the beginning, Matrix was simply an industrial scales company. But over the years and as the company grew, we extended our reach by providing scale based automation and control solutions such as sorting and filling systems. In 1995 I re-engineered Matrix Scale Systems into Matrix Industrial Control Systems, focusing on providing the very best data collection, reporting and integration solutions to the food manufacturing industry.

I served a five year apprenticeship with Avery Berkel (W & T Avery Ltd. at the time). My apprenticeship consisted of earning a mechanical engineering degree at Liverpool International College on a part-time basis, while gaining valuable hands-on experience working at Avery. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, I continued working at Avery's on a full time basis, earning both knowledge and experience to become a dependable and reliable scale technician.
