First of all Mathis, is an excellent example and human being it is a pleasure working with him him and getting inspired by his ideas in order to save this blue space ship named earth making it possible for future generations to travel the Galaxis in this wonderful spaceship. But once again, today is the date that despite knowing consecuences the date keeps being pushed in to the wrong direction, 29.07.2019 Earth Overshootday. Hopefully mankind will get more consciuos, about this wonderful blue planet just like Mathis fighting and living to push back earth overshootday and trying to save our blue planet and cleaning this spaceship for future generations.

For me,Mathis is one of the few living heros. His Ecological Footprint is not just an intellectual inspiration, but an eye-opener and mind-changer. His honesty, energy and perseverance in promoting the Footprint made it a kind of common sense. And still, both feet on the ground - or shall I say, our lovely One Planet Earth?

I direct Global Footprint Network which promotes the use of the Ecological Footprint — a resource accounting tool that measures how much nature we have, how much we use, and who uses what. This data-driven accounting metric works like a bank statement, documenting whether we are living within our ecological budget or consuming nature’s resources faster than the planet can renew them. Good accounting, we assume, is helpful to avoid bankruptcy.
