Mathias is like a platoon of employees roled into one! Don't even know how i would get my animations working without him.His talent expands across the whole company understanding each department and his scripts& tools make our lives much easier! He is a buffer zone between art and programming, understanding perfectly both parts, he can explain to each person what the other wants.We have to, literally wait in line to get his help because everyone seeks his valubale skills! Also did i mention he's the calmest person i know?!

Mathias joined Crytek as an Intern, but after a short amount of time he turned into a "one-man animation powerhouse". In his role as a Technical Animator for the entire company he pro-actively takes ownership in almost all areas of animation production and provides the rare combination of excellent artistic skills, technical understanding and the ability to juggle multiple tasks. As an operator of our in-house mocap-studio he is involved in all aspects of motion-capture (from maintaining and calibrating the hardware to cleanup of captured data) and as an artist he has a clear understanding what it takes to create first class animation assets. Not only does he possess an exceptional understanding of all animation tools used in game-production, but also the technical skills to write automated scripts for complex and/or repetitive animation tasks and an unstoppable passion to push the quality of the in-house tools forward. Especially his scripted tools became an essential time-saver in stressful production times. His ability to think more like a programmer help a lot to speed up the communication between animators and programmers and to improve the animation pipeline.
