Normans is a family-run stationery supplier which has been trading for over 30 years. Based in a 10000 square foot Warehouse stocking over 5000 different products in the North East of England and with a branch in Scarborough, Normans is a rapidly expanding organisation. We service over 6000 customers and pride ourselves on our friendly approach and can do attitude to all our customers. With two Warehouse Supervisors,five Warehouse Operatives and a team of ten Delivery drivers me and my team of staff are always trying to identify a lean way of working whilst providing the best possible service for our customers. Main Responsabilitys : •Effectively manage the performance of my Staff to ensure all targets are achieved to the required standard, through performance management, training and coaching. •Set KPIs and ensure they are achieved through effective use of resources. •Continually review all aspects of the operation so that methods, procedures and efficiency can be improved. •Ensure that all site rules and regulations are adhered to and that all accidents are investigated and reported accordingly. •Responsible for conducting investigations/disciplinary action up to and including dismissal when required to and in accordance with the company's Policies and Procedures. Key Achievements : • Implemented new shift pattern which has had a direct saving in man hours and overtime. • Recruited and trained new staff to meet operational needs. • Increased stock accuracy and considerably reduced order shortages by improving goods in procedure. • Increased MPG across my fleet of vans by giving each of my delivery staff KPI's which has also had a positive effect on vehicle maintainance and considerably reduced RTA's. • Promoted two members of my staff into more responsible supervisory roles which has enabled each to lead and motivate my warehouse team into delivering expected targets.

Started as a picker/packer and successfully progressed onwards to Warehouse Supervisor responsible for the day to day running of a small workforce reporting to the offsite Warehouse Manager regarding daily, weekly and monthly targets/KPI's and achievements. During my 7 years at Northern Power Grid I was able to successfully project manage new processes and new ways of working that resulted in a direct saving to operational running costs and achieved a increase in productivity which resulted in a better service for customers. Also responsible for arranging vehicle maintenance, MOTs and tax payments for the fleet of vehicles ranging from small vans to Class 2 wagons. People/HR management responsibilities include assisting the Warehouse Manager in hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work to warehouse operatives and Drivers, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. Also responsible for the sites fire and safety audits and the general running of the warehouse.
