I was working on import of proteins to mitochondria of yeast by Glutathione Peroxidase 3 and its functional analysis. I was testing the impact of mutations in its gene on cells' viability and oxidative stress response. I was working in the Department of Microbial Biology in the Faculty of Agriculture and Biology as a volunteer student, and in July 2017, I started research to my bachelor thesis. We have been working with soil nitrogen-fixing bacteria with emphasis on Bradyrhizobium strains. In my dissertation, I was determining phylogenetical relations between strains originating from South-East Brazil. Using molecular biology techniques, I determined systematic affiliation of obtained strains and led to the discovery of few new Bradyrhizobium groups. Show less

As a volunteer, I was involved in zebrafish heart development research. My duties included zebrafish breeding, obtaining embryos and screening them for fluorescent protein expression under microscope and isolating heart cells from the embryos using flow cytometry, RNA isolating, RT-PCR and regular PCR running to detect selected molecular markers. During my student internship, I was working in the Department of Genetics of Tumours localised in The Institute of Oncology. I was involved in research with human cancer tissues and blood. Experiments, I was involved in: DNA, total RNA, miRNA isolation; qPCR; genotyping and allelic discrimination; preparing proteins to mass spectrometry; digital PCR; NSG Ion Torrent sequencing; tummor heterotransplants to mice; histological tissue analysis.
