I had the opportunity to be a part of the senior business program at Hoover High School. Within this class students get to start their own legal company and operate it throughout the year. This process is lead by Junior Achievement, and Hoover is a powerhouse program within Junior Achievement competitions (we have had a company win Junior Achievement Nationals 3 of the last 5 years). The company I was a part of was called FlexFit. It was our mission to educate and motivate young athletes on training their body through our resistance bands. We were able to have a very successful year financially as we finished with the most sales in our local competitions. While I was given the "Human Resource Manager" title, our company members all worked together in multiple areas. This process taught me so much about starting, operating, and maintaining a business. It also greatly developed my skills in presentational speaking, business formal writing, as well as graphic design. Show less
