RIPI has been functioning as the R&D branch for the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for more than 60 years. We established the very first Corrosion Management System (CMS) in Iran to reduced maintenance cost and prevent failures at gas refineries. We cleaned and analyzed tons of data and predicted equipment failure. We had various stakeholders, from the minister of oil himself to the onsite operating manager. • We were pioneers to establish CMS, so we needed a detailed roadmap. I volunteered to develop the roadmap report, which was 4.5% of the project in 1/3 of the time. • I accelerated risk analysis by 20% in Excel by devising an automation technique for data validation and data verification. • I helped to achieve 20% of the project by guiding 15 colleagues (with no authority) to create more than 200 reports. • I helped to create a customized dashboard with different levels of access for different stakeholders. • We defined KPIs to monitor the system by creating formulas to reflect client’s concerns. • I established a Knowledge Management system for our project, which was 3% of the whole project.
