My responsibilities include 1) Formulation, appraisal and submission of climate change adaptation projects to Adaptation Fund Board (AFB), monitoring the implementation, capacity building of Executing Entities, etc 2) As of now, I was instrumental in obtaining approval for 6 Climate Change Adaptation Projects with a total outlay of US$ 9.8 million from AFB 3) I have led a team in preparing application for accreditation of NABARD as NIE of Green Climate Fund (GCF) of UNFCCC and was successful in getting accreditation in 10th Board meeting of GCF held during 06 to 09 July 2016, which was attended by me also 4) As of now, four projects have been shortlisted for GCF of which GoI has endorsed two project concepts with an assistance of US$ 78 million 5) I was leader of team in operationalisation of National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC), a domestic funding mechanism announced in the Union Budget (2014-15). Accordingly, Implementation guideline, template for project submission etc were finalised. In the very first year (2015-16), we could obtain approval in respect of 12 projects with an assistance of Rs.236 crore (US$ 39 million) 6) Two new programmes on soil rehabilitation and climate change adaptation with the financial support from KfW and GiZ also have been finalised in February 2016 7) As a part of the climate change team, I could associate with capacity building programmes for State Government, NGOs and our own staff.
