Mary Anne has to be one of the best managers I have had experience working with. She always had a clear understanding of what was going on with her staff both personally and professionally. She supported her staff in their objectives to improve their skills and when promotional opportunities became available.
Mildred Smith
I worked with Mary Anne on two levels, one as the Project Lead and the other as a subordinate under Mary Anne. As Mary Anne's Project Lead on some IT projects, she was always a well organized person with good communication skills (verbal and written), troubleshooting skills, and time management skills. She also managed the small the team she was over during those projects with making sure her team understood what was given to them to do their tasks, ensured that they did their tasks in a timely manner , and brought up issues as they occurred in order for the project to complete on time. She is a fast learner and will ask questions when she doesn't understand or needs more information in order to make a decision or do a tasks. As my manager, she helped me and the other team members understand what our team was responsible for in the IT organization at State Fund. She managed each of us the same, but she knew each of our strengths (project management, technical skills, troubleshooting skills, people skills) and placed us in areas where our strengthens would help the rest of IT. She also knew our weaknesses (verbal and written communication, people skills, and more) and helped us turn those into strengths by either getting us training or giving us a different view to our weaknesses. She is a very good people person, whether she was a member of a team or a manager over a team. She was able to get to know people in order to get them to meet their potential.
