Sally Maxwell
Mary is a warm, intuitive, and compassionate teacher. I was fortunate to work with her for three years at Springside Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. Mary recognizes and supports the reader and writer in every student.
Erin Corbett, MBA, EdD
To say that Mary is smart is to use the English language inadequately. Mary is brilliant. She is insightful, perceptive, and is constantly wanting to learn new things to broaden the scope of her work. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with her at Springside.

<< iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) is a non-profit organization made up of over 20,000 schools in more than 115 countries. iEARN empowers teachers and young people to work together online using the Internet and other new communications technologies. Each day, over 1,000,000 students are engaged in collaborative project work worldwide. >> First introduced to iEARN as a teacher at Springfield Chestnut Hill Academy (SCH), I am the facilitator for iEARN's “Finding Solutions to Hunger” project. In conjunction with the United Nations Goal of Food Sustainability for all people, schools of various means and resources in many different countries utilize iEARN’s collaborative forums to learn the systemic causes of local and global hunger, to share their understanding and, ultimately, to take action in support of food sustainability. I am also a collaborative instructor for iEARN’s Bridge Program, connecting teachers from the Middle East with partnering teachers in the US. I have written Common Core Standards for the “Kindred Family Project” and presented iEARN webinars on the benefits and challenges of developing global partnerships. Supporting the efforts of young people to grow into thoughtful, engaged and skilled global citizens has been one of the most important aspects of being a teacher. I am proud of the work students continue to accomplish through these and many other iEARN programs. Show less
